Experience the highlights of Southern Africa
This 10 night safari covers the 3 major highlights of a Southern African safari experience – a 3 night stay at Victoria Falls, followed by 3 nights in Chobe National Park – home to the largest elephant population in the world and the magnificent Chobe River. After your stay in Chobe, you will travel north for some tiger fishing at a lodge on the Upper Zambezi.
Proposed Travel Route
1. Vic Falls – 2. Chobe – 3. Upper Zambezi River | 1. Vic Falls – 2. Chobe – 4. Hwange National Park
Day 1 – 3: Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls, the largest waterfall in the world (based on volume) is a major highlight for anyone visiting Southern Africa. From sedate sunset cruises on the Zambezi River to white water rafting in the gorge below the Falls, there is something for all ages and interests. We reccommend spending 2 or 3 nights here (depending on the time of year) to give you enough time to see the Falls, explore the area and take part some of the activities.
Day 3 – 6: Chobe National Park
The Chobe National Park in Botswana is home to the world’s largest population of elephant and come winter, the game is flocking to the Chobe River as it is the last remaining water for miles. Chobe Elephant Camp offers game drives as well as an opportunity to experience the Chobe from the river with a boat cruise.
Day 6 – 9: The Upper Zambezi
Start at a lodge on the Upper Zambezi river for some quality tiger fishing, wonderful bird life, stunning sunsets, great hospitality and amazing food. A major highlight whilst staying here will be the visit to Sioma Falls where you will get cmap overnight on a remote beach below the Ngonye Falls – the second largest Falls on the Zambezi.
Trip Duration: 8 – 10 nights
